I was an English and History teacher and loved every minute of my career. However, after attending a number of weddings of family members and friends, I was impressed with the professionalism and presenting skills of the celebrants and decided to retrain to take on a new career. I trained in 2004 and received my authorisation in 2006.
I love language and literature and so find that being a celebrant is a natural fit for me.
Being a good listener and a good communicator helps me to be effective in working with couples to create the ceremony which is true to them.
I live on Sydney’s northern beaches but enjoy travelling to all parts of Sydney to conduct ceremonies. I find it very interesting and rewarding to meet the people who are planning a wedding, a civil commitment, a naming, or any other ceremony. Every couple that I meet has a “story” and my life has been enriched by the generosity of those couples in sharing their story with me.
